Hi,

I suspect that I am getting Ingress Drops on the NIF (Fex uplinks) of an N2148...

Does anyone know the command that will enable me to view ingress drop counters on thiis interface?

I can't find a command to display it... Perhaps somewhere under "attach fex xxx"?

Thanks,

Peter

there are few ways of looking at ingress drops .. beginning 5.0.3.N1.1b, we can execute 'show queuing interface eth x/y' where eth x/y is the fex fabric interface.

N5K# show queuing interface e1/5 detail

...

...

....

  FEX interface info:

FEX Drop Class Buffer Size: 316160

  Total FEX interface statistics:

FEX Uplink Interface Rx Drops: 0

This will show us the fex uplink drops.

on the fex, there are few command which we can look at to see the drop counters.

first you will need to login to the fex, execute 'dbgexc prt fp'. This will give you the port mapping.

fex-103# dbgexec prt fp

Fabric port map:

Fabric port map:

now based on the uplink port you can map the corresponding NI port.

then execute

show platform software portola rmon 0 NIx - this will show you all the counters

show platform software portola loss

show platform software portola drops 0 NIx

here 0 is the portola asic.

Thanks, Vinayak

Is there an snmp oid I can poll to monitor these FEX drops?
