N2K 2248PQ FET-40G / FET-10G connections

Hello all,

I read all possible documentation, try it, but I would like a confirmation on the following.

There is no way I can connect a N2248PQ with FET-10G on the N2K side, right?

From my knowledge the N2248PQ supports only FET-40G on the 4 x 40G ports at the end of the switch.

I tested with a breakout cable 40G to 4 x 10G, with 40G end on the N2248PQ and the 4 x 10G on the N5K / N6K and this works.

However I'm interested if there is anyway to connect FET-10G on the N2248PQ.

Thanks and cheers,

Calin

I don't think so as the uplink ports you are referring to are QSFP+ (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable) and not SFP like the other 48 ports, also it only describes them as 40gig.

Also the only modern QSFP out there is the 4x10G cables you already have working.

The cables do technically exist but they were mostly for InfiniBand deployments. You'd have to try a cable like this if you wanted to give it a go...

Thanks
