HI,
I am using N5K as a L3 devices for mulicast.(L3 daughter card inserted).
the normal RP address command and interface pim-sparse mode, etc commands are typed in without any problems.
While when I try to add ip igmp static-group x.x.x.x under a SVI, I got a notification:
Note: Forwarding of packets on SVI depends on the Layer 2 configuration
In my experiences. Cisco is not that friendly to warn you in advance, when a note pops up it also means you missed something or you have done something not correct!
I enabled feature PIM and Layer 2 vlan added spanning tree considered.
did I missed anything here ?
Thanks
Michael

I saw this message on past. I think in this case is just a reminder.
Do not disable igmp snooping, if you are using vPC.
Do not establish PIM neighborship over vPC member ports. The neighborship is established but the packets are dropped.
