Nexus 5548UP maximum FEX with L3 Card installed (but not used)

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the presence of a L3 daughter card  Nexus 5548UP switches on, if it impacts on the limits of maximum FEX supported. Per the documentation on the scalability guide it says that the maximum is 16 FEX when there's Layer 3 routing.

We have a pair of Nexus 5548UP with VPC, they have the L3 daughter card installed but it's not used (there are no layer 3 configurations or features enabled), does this count as layer 3 routing disables and that these N5K can support 24 FEX instead of 16? Or just because they have the L3 card installed the limit is 16? Does anyone know about this? I'm curious about what's the dependency on deciding the maximum FEX support.

Thanks all.

If L2 still it is 24 FEX.

Up to 24 fabric extenders per Cisco Nexus 5548P, Nexus 5548UP, or Nexus 5596UP Switch (16 fabric extenders for Layer 3 configurations).
