Nexus 5596 SFP Issue

We have a pair of Nexus 5596 switches, that each have a 1 gigabit conection to ISP CE switches (ME3400).

Switch 1 has a fibre connection using GLC-SX-MM with the following information...

I have tested the SFP's in use on a pair of 2960's & they work fine!

If i replace the SFP's for copper, then they work fine also.

Does anyone know of any incompatibility issue with this SFP?

Make sure you have set the speed to 1000 ( speed 1000) on the interface and that you have at least 5.0.3 version or later of NX-OS

Did you try removing "duplex full" command and use "duplex auto"? nexus 5500 never autonegotiate to half duplex in anycase.

then removed all config from the interface & re added line by line

Did you try a different port such as e1/1? Sounds like a bug to me

We had limited time during the change window.

That is the next step & to also swap with a known working SFP!

We had same issue recently:

Our ME3400-12 (uni port)

connected to non-Cisco device.

Our port was up (SFP GLC-LH-SM), their port was down.

It was bad SFP on our end, I will RMA it.

In your case it looks like ISP issue - I don't know how much power you have to push them to replace SFP.

This issuw was a problem with the swich.

Once an RMA was performed & switch replaced then isse was solved
