nexus 9000 C92160YC port autonegotiation issue

Hi, i am using cisco nexus switch 9000 C92160YC, other side i have Intel 82576 based NIC card having 1Gig fiber port.

When i connect fiber cable from nexus switch to NIC card port link doesn't come up, also i see auto-negotiation error in link partner ability register of 82576. when i connect same fiber cable to cisco catalyst switch 3750, link comes up but somehow it doesn;t work with Cisco Nexus 9000. Please help...

Because these are older NIC's you need to hardcode the speed because the auto-negotiation is trying to set newer options that aren't supported. I've run into this a lot

Thank you for your response. I am still trying to figureout which particular option of autonegotiation causing this failure.
