VM-FEX support in vSphere 6

Hi

Does anybody have information on future support for VM-FEX in vSphere 6 ?

The current drivers package for blades  ucs-bxxx-drivers.2.2.5.iso "\VMware\VM-FEX\Cisco\VIC\ESXi_6.0\ " just has a readme file that says: NOT supported.

The divers package for rackmounts  ucs-cxxx-drivers.1.5.7d.iso does not even contain a VM-FEX folder.

Is VMware blocking solutions that does not fit in with their overlay networking model, is Cisco just very late with the driver update, or did Cisco also decide VM-FEX is not for the future?

Also tried using the VEM for Nexus1000v in standard (not hypervisor bypass) and high performance mode. But it is not compatible with the DVS controlled by the FI, only seems to support VSM of the N1kv.

I used this version.

Nexus1000v.5.2.1.SV3.1.4-pkg.zip

VMware ESX600:  VEM600-201504173119-BG-release.zip  >> cross_cisco-vem-v173-5.2.1.3.1.4.0-6.0.1.vib

I think this is your answer:

Thanks

It is 2 months and a driver pack later after the previous discussion.

Any estimation of when the bug will be fixed?

What is the priority?

Is it a bug which requires a fix on the VMWare side?
