Hi everyone!

I got this error log from N3K-C3048TP-E

3 Aug  5 12:08:26 Top_C4506_Front_server %SYSMGR-2-SERVICE_CRASHED: Service "bcm_usd" (PID 4247) hasn't caught signal 11 (core will be saved).

Of course, it's caused switch to reboot 1 time, without any clues,

May someone can tell me what meaning of this?

I'm running NX-OS 5.0(3)U5.1c right now.

Please don't suggest me to upgrade to higher version without the reason.

Old post but i would like to update this with a problem of mine. I got almost the same error:

%SYSMGR-2-SERVICE_CRASHED: Service "bcm_usd" (PID 3267) hasn't caught signal 6 (core will be saved).
%SYSMGR-2-HAP_FAILURE_SUP_RESET: System reset due to service "bcm_usd" in vdc 1 has had a hap failure

It rebooted and caused half the serverfarm to go down... Im putting in a TAC-case right now but would like someone to answer so the next person searching for it will get a fast answer.

Thanks, I already forgot this topic until I got notification mail from Cisco!
Hope TAC will find out soon.

Basically a bug... I got this back:

Reason: Reset triggered due to HA policy of Reset

Service: bcm_usd hap reset

Version: 6.0(2)U1(1a)

Conditions:

This has been observed on a Nexus 3048 running NX-OS 6.0(2)U1(1a). The crash occurs while recovering from a parity error, but the exact conditions are not currently known.

Workaround:

Not known at this time.

Known Fixed Releases:

6.0(2)U4(1)

6.0(2)U4(0.805)

6.0(2)A4(1)

6.0(2)A4(0.805)

Since upgrade haven't have the problem again.
