Whether 4K (or UltraHD) will truly cross the chasm into mainstream in 2015 is yet to be seen, but I wanted to highlight some great work that Cisco has been doing with India’s Videocon d2h recently. Shortly after deciding to use Cisco’s AnyRes Live UHD Encoders to launch its 4K viewing experience, Videocon d2h leveraged the solution to deliver 4K signals of the 2015 Cricket World Cup to its subscribers, a first ever for an Indian pay-TV provider.
Customer feedback on our HEVC/h.265 encoders have been phenomenal, with our customers commending us on the picture quality and overall stability, especially in scenarios where fast scene changes were required. For more information about our work with Videocon d2h, I encourage you to check out the blog post here.
