Webcast: Configuring and Troubleshooting MPLS VPN (Live Webcast September 15, 2015 at 10:00 am Pacific Time / 1:00 pm Eastern Time)
Please join us on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. PDT San Francisco (UTC –7 hours) for this live, interactive event. This corresponds to 1 p.m. EDT New York (UTC –4 hours), 6 p.m. London (BST UTC +1), or 7 p.m. Paris (CEST UTC +2).
During this live virtual event, Cisco subject matter expert Vinit Jain provides us with an overview of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) virtual private network (VPN). MPLS VPN is a cost-effective solution that provides backbone connectivity and other related services to end customers without compromising customer privacy. Because MPLS provides protocol-independent forwarding, MPLS VPN can be implemented to utilize the existing MPLS infrastructure to provide the service. Ever since RFC4364, many service providers now offer VPN services to their customers, using a technique in which customer edge routers are routing peers of provider edge routers. The Multiprotocol Border Gateway Protocol (MP-BGP) is used to distribute customers’ routes across the providers’ IP backbone network, and MPLS is used to tunnel customer packets across the providers’ backbone.
