Overview

Cisco Virtual Broadband Node (CvBN) combines Cisco software, open-source software, and multiple management products to deliver a virtualized consumer-services architecture that meets new and existing market demands. Conceptually, CvBN enables you to remove layer 3 (L3) features from the inflexible ASIC-based CPE (in-home) devices currently used in consumer deployments and place them in the virtual residential gateway virtual machine (VM) in the service provider’s data center. CvBN helps service providers meet growing market demands, maintain customer loyalty, and be profitable in today's complex home-network environment.
