1841ISR as PPPoE client, hourly disconnection

Hello everyone.

I have an 1841ISR with a HWIC-2FE connected to 2 ADSL services with modems (pppoe passthrough).

One of the services encounters a regular disconnection - not a line drop, a disconnection after which it authenticates and is back up about 20 seconds later.

The odd thing is that it occurs the same number of minutes past the hour, but at irregular intervals.

For example on June 9th disconnections occured at: 0115, 0215 ,0816, 1016, 1316, 1416, 1716 and 1816.

On June 10th disconnections occurred at: 0116, 0216, 0716, 0816, 0917 and every hour thereafter.

Here is a snippet of the logs I have collected.  There seem to be 2 different disconnection types (for want of a better description)

Type 1:

Jun  9 01:15:58: Vi2 PPP: Missed 5 keepalives, taking LCP down
Jun  9 01:15:58: Vi2 PPP: Sending Acct Event[Down] id[1BB]
Jun  9 01:15:58: Vi2 LCP: State is Closed

Jun  9 01:15:58: Vi2 PPP SSS: Send DISCONNECT to mgr_hdl[2300032D]
Jun  9 01:15:58:  PPPoE : Shutting down client session
Jun  9 01:15:58: [0]PPPoE 9450: O PADT  R:0050.7fa5.a170 L:30e4.dbda.bdb2 Fa0/0/1
%DIALER-6-UNBIND: Interface Vi2 unbound from profile Di1

Type 2:

Jun  9 02:15:57: Vi3 LCP: I TERMREQ [Open] id 89 len 4
Jun  9 02:15:57: Vi3 LCP: O TERMACK [Open] id 89 len 4

Jun  9 02:15:57: Vi3 IPCP: State is Closed
Jun  9 02:15:57: Vi3 IPCP: Remove link info for cef entry a.b.c.d
Jun  9 02:15:57: Vi3 PPP: Phase is TERMINATING
Jun  9 02:15:58: Di1 IPCP: Remove route to a.b.c.d
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Virtual-Access3, changed state to down

I suppose I would like an answer to the following questions:

Is this an issue/problem at my end or my ISP end?

If it is my end, where/what/how do I fix it?  I can see nothing in my running config (though defaults are not shown there)

If any  more information is required, I'm  more than happy to post it.

As of writing, I have disconnected the 1841 and reconfigured the modem as the PPPoE client and asked the ISP to monitor - to help determine where the issue may lay.

TIA for your help.

Andrew

Ignore the above.

In the end it seems it was the modem.

I gave it a factory reset and ever since - no disconnections.

Sheesh.
