DNS resolving host with dots

Hi

My router 1921.

DNS server is running

The problem is with manualy added hosts.

IP HOST server 192.168.0.X

From client computer

ping server not resolving host

ping server. (with dot on the end) works fine

Is it normal ?

Re: DNS resolving host with dots

I've figure out

Firstly host must be added on router with domain name so

ip host server."domain" IP_ADDRESS

Then on client side, dns configuration, must include domain_name in DNS sufix
