How to access local LAN with WRVS4400N through VPN client?

I set up our VPN client and traveled abroad.

I am now  trying to access my business/home network. The VPN client connects  without problems. But when I try to access local IP addresses (through a  web interface), I do not get a response.

I can ping the  router and all local computers/NAS etc. But I do not get a web interface  from these machines (NAS, VOIP telephones etc.) when I try to access  them in an internet browser.

I tried to type 192.168.1.127:80 but that did not work either.

Here are the IP addresses:

VPN client (in a hotel):

IP address: 10.5.8.191

Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0

Default gateway 10.5.5.1

DHCP Server 10.5.5.1

DNS Servers:

192.168.1.1 (this is the WRVS4400N!)

21x.xx.xx.20 (partially blanked out)

19x.xxx.xxx.x22 (partially blanked out)

WRVS4400N Router at the office:

Local IP Address: 192.168.1.1

Local equipment:

192.168.1.105,

192.168.1.127,

192.168.1.160 etc.

Public IP Address: 82.xxx.xx.xx9 (blanked out for safety reasons)

What do I need to change in order to get local web interface access?

Thanks in advance!

Let me try to solve my own problem!

Could it be that I need to change all IP addresses in the local LAN from 192.168.1.xxx to 10.x.x.x?

I read somewhere that this is necessary to avoid conflicts with remote networks. In the example above, I was actually loging in from a 10.x.x.x domain so there was no conflict...

This is a lot of work as  I have tons of equipment with fixed IP addresses. But if this needs to be done, then I need to reserve 1 day to do it.

I would appreciate any comments
