Dear all,

A SRP 527W is responsible for the data network in my office. But I am not able to access it.

I use traceroute to confirm its IP address is “10.0.0.138”. As follows,

Zengs-MacBook-Pro:~ ak4531$ traceroute www.sina.com.cn

traceroute: Warning: www.sina.com.cn has multiple addresses; using 14.0.33.17

traceroute to n3wous.cdngc.net (14.0.33.17), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

1  srp527w (10.0.0.138)  4.442 ms  0.310 ms  0.310 ms

.

I am not able to access / open 10.0.0.138 with my web browser. I even can not access the same address with telnet.

So is there any solution to access the SRP 527W?

Thanks.

Hi Johnson, from the computer run an ipconfig or ifconfig and verify the default gateway address. The default gateway address should be the SRP's IP.

What I should do next?

Thanks.

From the MAC book can you go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES -> NETWORK. On the left, make sure to choose your connection (wifi or ethernet) then click ADVANCED then go to TCP/IP and check your "router" address.

Thanks Tom,

I follow your instruction, and find the IP adress of the router is still 10.0.0.138. It seems it is the address of 527W.

What is the next step?

Thanks.

Hi Johnson, try to directly connect with an ethernet wire to the SRP unit, run a ping to the 10.0.0.138. If this replies successfully, attempt to access the device using a web browser such as Firefox, IE, Google Chrome, etc.

Dear Tom,

Ping 10.0.0.138 is succeful. But access to it with IE browser is failed. Maybe it is caused by a swtich between the router and my MAC.

I will try to connect to the router directly with an RJ-45 cable tomorrow. And I will feedback to you tomorrow.

Thanks.

Dear Tom,

I am sorry to tell you that with a RJ45 cable direct connection to the 527W, I still can not open 10.0.0.138 with

IE or Google Chrome. But ping test is OK, and I am able to access the Internet.

So what the problem is?

Thanks.

Hi Johnson,

If you're unable to access the device IP address, the IP is either not correct or possibly the unit is provision for no HTTP access. These units are generally deployed by ISP and it is possible the HTTP access is locked out. Did you indepently purchase this unit or did your ISP provide it?

Hi Tom,

Yes, the 527W is installed and configured by ISP. I want to enable its wireless function without inform the ISP.

Do you have any other solution?

Thanks.

Hi Johnson, unfortunately if it is an ISP product, they will have to configure it for you.
