Looking for suggestions for higher capacity router

In our network we're settting up a large number of subinterfaces each with IPv4 & IPv6 DHCP, and with a distributed prefix pool for each IPv6 pool.

I attempted to do this on a Cisco 1941/K9 running 15.1(4)M4 with the datak9 license enabled, and 200 IPv6 distributed prefix pools overloaded it to the point where it didn't route IPv6 at all.

I need to get a more powerful router, but I'm not sure what Cisco has available that can handle this other than top-of-the-line core routers.

Thanks for any suggestions

What is the WAN link speed?

currently 1Gbps, although I'd like the capacity to upgrade to 10Gbps

1Gbps, although I'd like the capacity to upgrade to 10Gbps

10 Gbps per chassis or 10 Gbps per interface?

ASR 1002X or 1002HX is the best candidate (ASR Data Sheet HERE).

For ASR 1002X, start with ESP5 (default) and then when you want to upgrade to 10 Gbps, then get a license upgrade to unlock to ESP10.

ASR 1002X can suppport up to 36 Gbps while ASR 1002HX is suitable for up to 100 Gbps (refer to Table 5 of the Data Sheet).
