Hi, my name is Randy, and I hate Sonicwall.
I have a very small client with a nasty TZ-170 that is choking the life out of their network. They have 5 static IP addresses. I was considering one of the RV series devices to replace it. Thoughts?

Depending on what functions the tz-170 is doing, something in the rv-series lineup may be up to the task, especially if it is not that intensive. These routers can easily handle the static IPs.
Take a look at the rv specs and tell us what model you're considering and the functions the sonicwall is fulfilling at the moment.

randyzinn,
You may try the Cisco ASA's entry level that has more security features. However, if you are considering the Cisco RV series, you may check this link to give you more information and comparison http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/routers/small-business-rv-series-routers/index.html
I'll be happy to help you if you need further assistance.
Thanks!

If he hates the sonicwalls, I'm sure the asa series won't be his favorite either.
