RV042 Networking

           I'm use this router as a main router as my WISP connections. ISP assigned static. RV042 is in Gateway Mode.  Can someone explain to me the different's between gateway mode and router mode.

Hi Jimmy, Gateway mode is a NAT interface which would be hosting the connection to the internet. Router mode is when you have other routers on the network and the other router(s) are the Gateway. At that point, when in router mode it behaves more like a layer 3 switch.

I'm understanding so far.

RV042 Gateway Mode.

Can  I change Gateway to Router  Mode without messing up setting such as Lan IP's? or do i have to reconfigure router.

So if I have 6 Router feeding 6 Locations 10 - 15 Miles apart each way. I should be in Router Mode?

How are the sites interconnecting?
