RV042G not detect failed WAN if ISP modem signal lost but still can ping internal LAN of ISP Modem

Hi,

I use RV042G with two WAN connect to two ISP modem.

I setup load balance WAN. Both ISP modem set to "router mode" with PPPoE.

ISP Modem 1st LAN = 10.1.1.254  (RV042G WAN 1 = 10.1.1.1)

ISP Modem 2nd LAN = 10.5.5.254  (RV042G WAN 2 = 10.5.5.1)

Problem is when an ISP Modem has internet problem = fiber optic signal lost.

Example if ISP Modem 2nd has signal lost and internet problem. RV042G still can ping to 2nd ISP modem 10.5.5.254. RV042G not detect ISP Modem 2nd as failed WAN 2 link. As the results, user cannot use internet as RV042G still thinking that WAN2 is online. I need to manual change to fail over mode, primary link = WAN 1 and user can use internet.

How to fix this problem? I don't want to setup ISP Modem = bridge mode and let RV042G to authen. Because I want to use Wifi Access Point at both ISP Modem for users too.

I heard that Cisco Meraki can detect WAN health by ping 8.8.8.8 (external public IP) through both WANs.

Please advise.

Thanks.
