RV082 Dynamic DNS Username Length

I tried to sign in with my DYNDNS account in the dynamic dns settings and the username field is limited to 15 characters. The problem is that DYNDNS does not limit usernames to 15 characters and my username is more than 15 characters. How can I get them to fix this? Emailing them resulted in them directing me to this forum.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for posting. You raised an interesting question. I tested some of our other routers to see if there were any differences in the number of characters allowed in the DDNS Username field. Here is what I found:

• RV082 & RV042 hardware versions 2 & 3: 15 Characters
• WRV210: 32 Characters
• RV220W: 64 Characters

I will see if I can find some reason for the discrepancy and hopefully we can get the max. character limit changed in a future firmware for the RV0xx series.
