Have you tried blocking the ip address as that should cover the whole domain, pages variables and subdomains. Open command promp then type ping then the address.. this will tell you the ip address of that domain then you can use that in your access rules. Hopefully this would help.

Thanks

Hello,

Im sorry you are having issues with your configuration. Just to let you know, the rules won't apply to secure domains (HTTPS) as they are trusted by default on the router. The suggestion from lewisstevens1 is an option but most of the time is just a temporary one as websites like youtube and Facebook can use multiple IP addresses, so blocking one will only work for a short time and it will be a constant job tracking down new addresses to block them on the router.

The best recommendation I can give you is to use a internet service called opendns, https://www.opendns.com, its supposed to help you block unwanted websites and much more.

Please let us know if this helps.

What I'm not understanding here is that it's marketed as a firewall and whether or not the browser sees it as secure, the firewall shouldn't, otherwise since so many sites are now using https, what good is the cisco firewall then?

Do you know if cisco plans on fixing this?  I looked at opendns, and it blocks the entire network from accessing facebook, can't be done per host.

I've already listed a whole slew of ip address ranges for facebook, but apparently that doesn't work.  I bought this router for the firewall, and come to find out it's just a little ember..

Hello, i tried this out on my RV-082 although i did have an issue the same as you - firstly i added the content filter ( Firewall -> Content Filter ) then checked the box Enable Block Forbidden Domains. From that i addedthe domain in, made sure scheduling was on always and clicked save. I only then found out after ... it works in internet explorer... so i then noticed it would only work without the www. prefix.... so its very strange and tempermental... I did get one thing working though... website blocking by keywords... it stops you being able to use your default WEB BROWSER search engine to find those keywords... but if you just go onto google and type them in...it doesnt do anything.

Sorry i cant be of any help.

Thanks
