RV215W and Huawei E173 not working

Hello,

I'm trying to find some kind of 3g modem that actually works with the RV215W router.

Without luck so far.

Huawei E1752 - not working, but ok, it is not on the supported modems list.

Huawei E372 - not working, it is on the list but under the T-mobile Germany and not T-mobile Poland so ....

Huawei E173 - not working, it is on the list as supported !!!

Does this router work with any kind of 3g modem at all ?

This is what I see in the logs after connecting E372:

Hi Michal,

For different ISP, 3g modem may have different behavior. The list is for ISP in US.

If your 3g modem doesn't work with local ISP, please register a case with our Small Business Support Center. Please refer the below link for contact details:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html

Hello,
I've registered a case and now waiting for solution.
The list is not only for the US.
Under Polish ISPs, E173 is mentioned as supported.

Michal

I have the same problem.

My RV215W cannot detect Huawei E 173 usb modem.

RV215W firmware – 1.1.0.5,

ISP – Orange Poland.

Can you help ?

Piotr

Hi,

I can send you fixed driver they made for me.

My ISP is T-mobile (ERA) so maybe it wont work for you but still, you can try.

I dont know why cisco didn't put this driver in the downloads section for this router.

Maybe they must test it further more.

Send me PM with your e-mail and I will send it to you.

Best Regards

Michal

Michal,

Thank you for your help,

Hi!

I have a similar problem with Cisco RV215W (FW 1.1.0.5). I'm trying to connect the Huawei E173-u2 and unfortunately the router doesn't recognize it. I have similar information in the debug log.

Please send me the fixed driver if you can (my email: adam@ahlewandowski.pl) - perhaps it will help....

Best regards,

Adam
