Trying to setup VPN for RV180W

I have been trying to set up the VPN connection for a RV180W.

When I try and connect, I Get a popup which says:

Failed to establish a connection.

This could be caused by one of the following:

1. Incorrect password

2. No valid IP for the network card.

3. Incorrect server address

4. Windows Vista/Windows 7 with Windows Firewall disabled, which disable IPSec Service.

5. Local IP address conflicts with the subset of the remote VPN server.

The log.txt has:

2013/11/06 14:53:20 [STATUS]OS Version: Windows 7

2013/11/06 14:53:21 [STATUS]Windows Firewall Domain Profile Settings: ON

2013/11/06 14:53:37 [WARNING]Failed to connect!

(this eliminates 1, 2, 3, 4 as posible conflicts.  #5 is also elimated as the network on the RV180W is 192.168.1.1, and this one is 192.168.2.1)

The vpnserver.conf has:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Content-Type: text/html

Cache-Control: no-cache

Pragma: no-cache

Expires: 0

msgtype=status

I did a new VPN Setup, with a new Client,

And I did not add the IKE and VPN User in advanced.  I now got further:

It got all the way to Verifying Network.,..

And the Ping did not respond.

I did some searching on the messages, and I tried:

1. Manual sized MTU of 1428

2. Block Anonymous ICMP Messages disabled

I have now gotten to the point to where it says the IPSec Connection Status is

IP Sec SA Not Established.

Clicking on Connect had no effect.

If I Added the IKE and VPN, It went back to the old status.

I finally connected, but not how I planned it.

I had to update the firmware on the router.  The old one was 1.0.0.30, the new one is 1.0.3.10.

The QuickVPN still will not connect, same problems.

However, now the Microsoft VPN connected right up.   Complete with the NetBios.

If anyone has any Ideas of how to get the QuickVPN to work, let me know.

Well, it worked for a little while.  Then it stopped.  Now the CPU is stuck at 100%, and the logins no longer work.

If any one at Cisco has a friend with an iPhone, they should look at how easy it is to use.  I can hand my iPhone to a 3-Year old, and they will have fun.  On the other hand, this is something that not even an engineer can get it to work.

Have you tried rebooting the router?  Not a permanent solution, but it would shed some light on what's going on.

Yeah, this IS easy compared to the heavy-duty real Cisco stuff.  I couldn't even figure out what model ASA router to buy.
