What are the "rules" for Local ID and Remote ID?
One might think that they are reasonably self-explanatory but I'd suggest otherwise and would really like to know the rules:
For example, if one is using a Client to Site VPN and setting up the Site router VPN, what is the Remote ID that will work?
If one hard-codes an IP address then that can't work if the client moves to another site.
If there is no domain or even a domain name then how might FQDN selection work? What's allowed for the entry? A real domain name? a made-up domain name? a resolvable domain name? Now, I know that these aren't "addresses" and are just identifiers, but they sure are similar aren't they? I've tried some that didn't work.
So, what are the rules and what are the recommendations and where are some real-world examples?
