What is the deal with the RVS4000?

RVS4000 is eol, but still in support.  Is cisco going to do anything about Poodle/SSLv3 on this device?

Also, I noticed that since I started sending rtsp video out the wan, not through the vpn, will make the vpn drop.

When that happens, I go to vpn status and it shows as if I have no tunnels defined.???

A reboot fixes it, so there is definitely a bug in there.

Often, at other times, the vpn is up when the status says down and vice versa.

If cisco has fixes, let's hear about them.  If not, then what device is available that is not at or near end of sale, and which has some reliability?

There is still a need for wired-only, vpn, firewall routers and I use a bunch of them.

Hello my name is Patrick with Cisco eSupport,

Unfortunately, it appears that support for the RVS4000 ended a couple years ago. You may view the announcement here:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/rvs4000-4-port-gigabit-security-router-vpn/end_of_life_notice_c51-577239.html

I highly recommend the RV130 as a replacement for the RVS4000. It is one of the latest models of VPN router that we offer and I find them easy to set up and configure out of the box. You can checkit out for yourself here

If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer them for you

Best,
