Introduction:

In versions prior to CCA 2.0, Analog FXS ports would auto-register and keep reappearing in User Extensions tab after they were deleted. This document describes how to configure analog FXS ports as either common area or fax phones that do not appear in the User Extensions tab, using CCA 2.0 or above.

Caveat

Non-user analog FXS ports cannot use features such as voicemail, call transfer, call forward or conferencing. They also cannot me watched or monitored by other IP phones.

Procedure

For UC500 in factory defailt

1. Run Telephony Setup Wizard

2. In Configure Analog Station Ports (FXS) screen, select Common Area Phone/Fax radio button

3. When Telephony Setup Wizard completes, the FXS ports will be removed from the User Extensions tab.
