In order to capture debug and syslog messages from your SPA9000, you need to have a syslog server on your network.
Here is a link to a document describing this.
Turn on debugging and syslog messaging as follows:
1. Determine the IP address of your syslog server
c:\ ipconfig /all [Windows]
$ ifconfig -a [UNIX]
For this example, assume a syslog server IP address of 192.168.0.200
2. Configure your SPA9000 by directing your browser to:
http://<IP_address_of_SPA9000>/admin/voice/advanced
Example: http://192.168.0.100/admin/voice/advanced if the SPA9000's IP address is 192.168.0.100
3. Edit the following fields:
a. SPA9000 web-ui > Voice tab > System tab > Miscellaneous Settings > Syslog Server: <IP address of syslog server> Example: 192.168.0.200
b. SPA9000 web-ui > Voice tab > System tab > Miscellaneous Settings > Debug Server: <IP address of syslog server> Example: 192.168.0.200
c. SPA9000 web-ui > Voice tab > System tab > Miscellaneous Settings > Debug Level: 3
d. SPA9000 web-ui > Voice tab > Line N > SIP Settings > SIP Debug Option: full
4. Scroll down and click Submit All Changes
The SPA9000 will reboot and send all debug and syslog messages to the specified IP address of the syslog server.
[Don't forget to make sure that your syslog server is running and that its IP address is what you configured on the SPA9000]
