The SIP Trunk offerings listed below have not been validated by Cisco and as a result are not supported by Cisco in any way. However, members of the wider SBCS community have successfully deployed these services in conjunction with the UC500 or Cisco Communications Manager Express (CCME), and the lessons learned from that process are shared below.
Engin BYO (Australia)
Engin's BYO SIP Service may be configured using Cisco Configuration Assistant version 1.9 or later by means of the following steps:
- Open the Voice configuration page and select the SIP Trunk tab. Select the Generic SIP Trunk Provider option.
- Set the primary proxy server to either of syd.byo.engin.com.au or mel.byo.engin.com.au based on the location of the system being installed. Set the registrar server to match that specified for the primary proxy server
- Set the username and password fields to the values supplied by Engin
- Using CLI, apply the 'connection-reuse' command underneath 'sip-ua' in order to lock the source UDP port to 5060. Note this CLI is hidden and does not appear in the online help
As an alternative to using CCA, the following CLI configuration template may be utilised:
!
sip-ua
authentication username <Engin Account Username> password <Engin Account Password>
no remote-party-id
retry invite 2
retry register 10
timers connect 100
registrar dns:syd.byo.engin.com.au expires 3600
sip-server dns:syd.byo.engin.com.au
host-registrar
connection-reuse
