One person configures the SPA9000 Voice System with the SPA9000 Setup Wizard and then someone else will have to make changes from a different PC. Is this possible with the SPA9000 Setup Wizard?
The SPA9000 Wizard was not designed to support this. However; with a bit of planning, it is possible.
Assume the original installer is Admin1, day-2 person is Admin2, and each carries their own computer.
Admin1 installs the SPA9000 Setup Wizard on their computer and configures system. When done: 1. Admin1 backs up all devices as described in the "Backing up the Device Configurations" starting on p106 of the Wizard Guide. 2. Admin1 copies c:\linksys\*.* to a USB key into a directory called CustomerName\linksys\ 3. Admin1 copies ~\<Wizard-directory>\*.* to the USB\CustomerName\<Wizard-directory>\*.* 4. Admin1 stores USB key at main office
At some point in time, AdminN has to visit customer site for maintenance tasks: 1. AdminN retrieves USB key located at main office 2. If AdminN has the SPA9000 Setup Wizard already installed on their computer, they: a. Move their c:\linksys directory to c:\linksys_<pre_today’s date> b. Move their ~\<Wizard-directory>\ to ~\<Wizard-directory>\_<pre_today’s date> If AdminN does not have the SPA9000 Setup Wizard already installed on their computer, they: a. Install the SPA9000 Wizard onto their computer 3. AdminN copies the USB key’s contents into the appropriate directories on their computer. 4. AdminN goes to site, starts up the SPA9000 Setup Wizard, and clicks “I have configured the SPA9000 using the Wizard before” 5. When done, AdminN backs up all devices as described in the "Backing up the Device Configurations" starting on p106 of the Wizard Guide. a. AdminN copies c:\linksys\*.* to a USB key into a directory called CustomerName\linksys\ b. AdminN copies ~\<Wizard-directory>\*.* to the USB\CustomerName\<Wizard-directory>\*.* c. AdminN stores USB key at main office
