Objective

System Configuration gives an idea about the computers, process and the devices which constitutes the system and its boundary. It gives an insight of what a system consists of. This article explains the system configuration and Internet connection in SPA9X2 IP phones.

System Configuration in Basic Mode

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Admin > Login > Basic > System.

              

Step 1. Choose Yes from the drop-down list in the Enable Web Server field. The web server is enabled. If the web server administration is enabled there can be access to the phone's web server pages and information. If this feature is disabled then the unauthorized access to the phone's web server pages and information is denied.

Step 2. Enter the user password  which can be maximum of 32 alphanumeric characters in the User Password field. Once the password is set, it should be provided whenever the user gets in to the User Login.

System Configuration in Advanced Mode

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Admin > Login > Advanced > System.

Step 2. Enter the fully qualified domain name also known as the FQDN in the Restricted Access Domains field. This allows the phone to respond only to the SIP servers which have been given the FQDN. Separate with semicolons. Only the servers which are entered here will get a response for SIP messages from the phone.

Step 3. Choose Yes from the drop-down list in the Enable Web Server field. The web server is enabled. If the web server administration is enabled there can be access to the phone's web server pages and information. If this feature is disabled then the unauthorized access to the phone's web server pages and information is denied.

Step 4. Enter the web server port in the Web Sever Port field. The default is 80.

Step 5. Choose Yes from the drop-down list in the Enable Web Admin Access field. This allows the to enable or disable the local access to admin login of the web configuration utility. It defaults to Yes.

Step 6. Enter the password in the Admin password field. This can be set if it is required for the system administrator to log in to the admin login with a password. The prompt to enter the password will come up when the administrator clicks Admin Login. The maximum password length is 32 characters.

Step 7. Enter the password in the Admin password field. This can be set if it is required for the user to log in to the web configuration utility with a password. The prompt to enter the password will come up when the user clicks User Login. The maximum password length is 32 characters.
