Access to VLAN based on MAC address

Hi,

I'd like to assign ports as untagged members of VLAN 2. But there are some machines that should be untagged members of the default VLAN 1. This is based on their MAC address.

But this doesn't seem to do the trick:

interface gigabitethernet1
 switchport general map macs-group 1 vlan 1
 switchport general acceptable-frame-type untagged-only
 switchport general pvid 2
 switchport mode general
!

I don't seem to be allowed to issue switchport general allowed vlan add 1 untagged. Where is my mistake and how can I achieve the desired behavior?

Thanks!

Hi Dirk, I think before assigning the mac-group, first assign the port as the desired VLAN. I also think the acceptable-frame-type may be unnecessary.

Paul,

whenever I try to add vlan 1, I get the following error:

switch0146(config-if)#switchport general allowed vlan add 1
VLAN 1 : VLAN was not created by user.

The order shown in my original posting is the order given by  show running-config interface ge1. Reordering my commands does not change the result.

Any ideas? Or is this not possible with a SG300 switch?
