AP514N and SGE2010 configuration for vlans

Id like to set up our AP to push our different vlans depending on which ESSID you connect to.

A few things I am unclear on.

The switch port on the SGE needs to be in trunk mode I assume.

Do I marry the Management Vlan ID on the AP to the PVID on the SGE port ?

Or is the PVID the untagged vlan ID ?

I set the switches port to trunk mode, it's PVID to 10 and set the management vlan ID on the AP to 10 and I get TTL Exceeded in Route when I try to ping.

Hi John, the PVID is the untagged vlan.

Let's say you have vlan 1 for management for both the switch and AP but vlan 10 is your private lan and vlan 20 is your guest network, the port of the switch would be configured as 1u, 10t, 20t. You can set a SSID to be vlan 10 and another for vlan 20. On the LAN set up of the AP you can define the management vlan of the AP.
