Hello.

We plan to buy Cisco SB SG500XG-8F8T. whether all ports are equal? Can I use the SFP ports to connect the server directly to the network card or the storage system (such as HP MSA1040, and others) ?

thx

Hello,

All the switchports are 10G ports:- ports # 1 - 8 are copper ports; ports # 9 - 16 are fiber ports.

The SG500XG-8F8T switch supports the following SFP+ modules:-

Not sure the inter-operability  with HP or other manufacturers' SAN storage system.

I will contact you via email to answer additional questions you might have.

Thanks.
