How do I Configure Port Forwarding on a Cisco SG300-20

I have a Cisco SG300-20.

I have read the documentation and cannot seem to locate the instructions for port forwarding.

I need to forward TCP port 8088 to IP address 192.168.14.110 on the switch.

How do I accomplish this?

All assistance is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Allan C.

Hello Allan

The SG300-20 does not have an option to port forward as it is only a switch. For port forwarding you will have to look into setting that on your router. All of the small business routers we offer will be able to do port forwarding.

I hope this information helps.

Hello Robert,

The router can only forward to another IP on the same subnet (192.168.1.x).

The SG300-20 is connected to the router (192.168.1.104).

However, the computer that I would like to forward to is on VLAN 192.168.14.110 (on the SG300-20).

I really do not want to connect the computer mentioned above directly to the router.

What are my options?

Thank you in advance.

Depending on what router you are using, this should be possible. You would want to make sure that there is a static route to that subnet/vlan pointing back from the router to the switch.

I understand that not all routers will have this option as they may be limited to portforwarding only within their own subnet. If this is the case then you may have to upgrade your router.

I am using a LinkSys WRT54G.

I also have access to a LinkSys WRT54G2 and Cisco WRV210.

I belive the WRT54Gs will not allow you to use port forwarding to multiple subnets. The WRV210 is limited to only the main subnet.
