Internal Diagnostic Failure

Good Evening,

My apologies if this is the incorrect board, this is my first time posting.

I need some clarification as to the possible problem...I have a WS-C2960X-48FPD-L switch running IOS 15.2(7)E0a. When we run the internal diagnostic the TestPortAsicLoopback fails, all other tests pass.

The logs show the following: %DAIG-3-TEST_FAIL: Switch 1: TestPortAsicLoopback{ID=2} has Failed. Error Code = 0x1 (DIAG_FAILURE).

 

The unit then restarts and seems to function normally. Is the unit failing or is this a bug ?

My concern is how will the bug affect the switch or the network?
