QoS Not working in Linksys SRW248G4

Hi....

We are using Linksys SRW248G4 in our network as Layer 2 Device. We have configured QoS policy for Voice and Video Priority over Data. On Layer 3 we are using CISCO SGE 2000, on that we have also configured QoS Policy and that is working, if we are connecting two IP Phones on L3 Switch but when we are connecting IP Phones on L2 Linksys we are not getting Voice and Video quality over Data.

P2P link is of 10MB.

I am Putting Whole configuration of that switch in TEXT FILE. Please refer that attachment and guide us.

Please give us proper solution on that.

Hello DC,

The only thing you should have to do is set the Basic QoS to trust if it isn't already.

Trust Mode Displays the trust mode. If a packet’s CoS

tag and DSCP tag are mapped to different queues, the

Trust Mode determines the queue to which the packet is

assigned. Possible values are:

•• CoS Sets trust mode to CoS on the device. The CoS

mapping determines the packet queue

•• DSCP Sets trust mode to DSCP on the device. The

DSCP mapping determines the packet queue

But as per you views we have checked with DSCP mapping with DSCP  and CoS  Value mapping with CoS on both the switches and Combined also, but in all three cases we are not getting Quality of a video.

Please help more in this.

Hello DC,

Unfortunately there is not much help to give. If you have upstream QoS working, anything being sent down to the SRW will be trusted.

How are you determining the video does not have priority?

Do you have a packet capture showing the DSCP value not correctly affixed?

Yes we can see packets of DSCP with 46 value on wireshark.

When we are generating Unicast UDP traffic on 10MB P2P  link as per diagram from WAN Killer Solar Wind software, At the time of communication we are getting Voice quality good but video quality is getting bad.

Can you  please suggest any monitoring tool that can determine video priority we are getting or not in Linksys SRW 248G4 switch ?

If the DSCP remark is correctly affixed, it is not a QoS issue. It is a different problem much as poor media or video FPS too high.
