Sure does sound like a real problem.
But the switch has a tremendous warranty and support is free for products under service contract or warranty.

If you would be so kind as to contact the good folks at the Small Business Support Center (SBSC), they will either help fix the product or allow for RMA of the unit. their contact details are on the second URL below.
A SBSC technician will ask for a Cisco Connection online (CCO) ID, if you don't have one, go to the following URL to create one. https://tools.cisco.com/RPF/register/register.do This allows the the technicians to have contact details for you and for you to manage your service requests online at Cisco if that is what you want to do..
