Help!
I have just received a Cisco SF 200E-24P switch and need to upgrade the firmware. The current version is 1.0.0.12 an need to load the latest (or at least 1.1) to get CDP etc. However when I use the upgrade option in the switch I get an error of..
Firmware Image download through HTTP failed. Wrong File Type
I have tried 3 different versions of the firmware and get the same error message each time.
Can anyone help?
Regards
Simon

Hello Simon,
To verify, you are trying to load a .ros file? Are you using HTTP or TFTP?
Can you factory default the switch then try to upload the 1.1.0.73 (second firmware released)?
Here are all releases;

Correct, I am trying to upload a .ros file via the web interface using HTTP
I tried resetting the switch to factory defaul and uploading the 1.1.0.73 firmware.
Still the same error...
Firmware Image download through HTTP failed. Wrong File Type
Anything else?

Simon, my apoligies. I am a complete idiot!
I just read the email notification and saw SF 200 E. This is why! It uses a .stk file.

I thing I am the idiot here, and I call myself a Cisco partner! Shame on me.
I will try it now and get back to you.
