Helllo Cisco Friends,
To keep this very simple, I reduced my network to simply
the Xfinity Wireless Technicolor Gateway (with the Wireless Turned off)
and simply plugged an Ethernet Cord from the back of it, directly to a brand new Cisco SG110-16 Small Business Switch.
Nothing else is plugged into the switch. Wireless is off. Simply Xfinity Gateway to the Switch.
The LED's on the connected Port:
LEFT Side: Flashing Amber
Right Side Solid Green
Other posts, describing the LED functions of this switch, say that this LED combination indicates a Network Loop.
But how? The ONLY thing plugged into the switch is the Xfrinity Gateway,,,nothing else, but power.
How can I have a Network Loop with only the Gateway plugged into the switch?
Is that LED Legend posted elsewhere incorrect?
What I do notice is that when I FIRST plug it in, I get the nice pretty flashing green and solid green (as would be expected), but then it changes to the Flashing Amber / Solid Green...so it kind of seems that something is wrong, but what?
When I DO plug in other devices they seem to work pretty well, but speeds are a bit erratic.
Can anyone offer any insight as to what is going on?
Thank you for your consideration.
