SG200-08P - amber LED on POE ports

Just got myself a SG200-08P switch in order to POE two WAP561.

POE ports 1 and 2 (g1 and g2) LEDs are amber (as opposed to green I guess ???) - see attached screen dump.

Is this normal behaviour? Port stats are ok.

If a non-POE device is connected to e.g. Port 1 then LED is green.

Anyone any thoughts?

Firmware (latest) = 1.0.8.3  / Boot code = 1.0.0.12  /  PID VID = SLM2008PT V01  / Consumed power = 12 W

Cheers, Paul

Hello Paul,

Thank you for using the Small Business Support Community!

According to the SG200 Quick Start Guide, a port LED will be amber when power is being supplied by the SG200 to the POE device attached to the port. As you noted, a non-POE device connected to these ports will cause the LED to turn green, as the SG200 will not supply power to a non-POE device.

If you have any more questions, feel free to post them here and I'll do my best to help you!

Best,

Taylor

Hi Taylor,

Thanks for clarifying this.

Incidentally, there is no mentioning of this in the dedicated Quick Start Guide for the SG200-08P hence my initial question :-)

Best,

Paul
