SG300-28 Firmware 1.3.7.18 VLAN Interface

Hello

I just upgrade my SG300 to the latest firrmware 1.3.7.1.8 and I have encountered this issue:

-  By default, the VLAN interface was Enabled but the display is always Disabled

-  I can not change it and I cannot ping the VLAN IP interface as well (I gave it an IP 192.168.10.1)

Is this a bug? Does any one know how to fix this issue? Please help me!

Greatly appreciate your help

Minh

minh06,

Did you upgrade the boot code to Sx300_FW_Boot_1.3.5.58?

- Marty

View solution in original post

Minh,

1) Download Sx300_FW_Boot_1.3.5.58.zip

2) Extract the zip file and you will see sx300_boot-13506.rfb

3) In the switch, browse to Administration-> Upgrade/Backup Firmware

4) Select via TFTP, Upgrade and Boot Code

5) Enter the IP address of the TFTP server and file name: sx300_boot-13506.rfb

- Marty

Thanks Marty

This is what I used:

sx300_fw_1.3.7.18.ros

I boot into that image making it acrive

what is Sx300_FW_Boot_1.3.5.58? is it a new version?

Minh

Minh,

When the switch is upgraded to Release 1.3.5.58, the boot code must be upgraded as well. Did you upgrade to

sx300_fw_1.3.7.18 from an earlier version?

http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=283019617&flowid=18905&softwareid=282463181&release=1.3.7.18&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

You can download 1.3.5.58 from the link. Extract the file and you will see a boot code file along with the .ros file. You need to use a TFTP server to install the boot code.

- Marty

Hi Marty, great thanks

I see what I have missed.

Problem is I did not see the boot code file from the URL you gave

I only see the ros file.

It strange. The article also point to that site for the zip file. I have seen no zip as well

Minh

Minh,

Hi Marty,

I got the new boot OK but it does not solve my original problem

The VLAN Interface state is Disabled by default and cannot be changed.

Do you have any idea?

Minh

Minh,

Is anything connected to VLAN 10 or VLAN 20 on the switch? The interface will be disabled if there is no connection.

- Marty

Hi Marty

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

It works!!!!!

Minh

Hi Marty

Sorry to bother you again

I was running SG300 with the release 1.3.5.58

Change system mode to layer 3

Access the switch via Seial interface.

The "menu" command is not regcognized any more

Cisco#menu

Unregconized command

I was panic! Not possible to do anything any more!

Could you please give me some hint?

Regards

Minh

Hi Minh,

Please see the following thread:

Thanks Marty

I find out 2 commands that helped:

show system mode

set system mode

after I set system mofe to router, I used

show ip interface  to find out the current ip address amd use it to access the Web-based  GUI

Is it a bug in the latest versio and version 1.3.5.58 that the menu command just diesappear?

I still have it in older version 1.1.2

Thanks Marty

Minh

thank you again..

Thanks Clint. That help
