SGE2000 support for Jumbo Frames

Of all the switches in the Cisco/Linksys line, why is the SGE2000 the only gigabit managed switch that has all sorts of really great features including some layer 3 routing capabilities, but does not support true Jumbo Frames?  There is only support for so-called "mini-jumbo frames" of 1600 bytes, which is about as useful as... well, this is a polite community, so I'll just say it's useless.

Cheaper switches support 9K or 10K jumbo frames.

The SGE2010 supports 9K jumbo frames.  The SGE2010 is supposedly the 48-port version of the SGE2000.

Are there any plans to include 9K (or bettter) jumbo frames in a future firmware update for the SGE2000?  Are there even plans to upgrade the firmware of the SGE2000?

SGE2000 supports jumbo frames up to 10K today. In fact, jumbo frames up to 10K is supported on all of the Small Business Smart and Managed Gigabit switches.

We will get the datasheet corrected - sorry for the incorrectly posted information.

Thanks,

Ivor

Correct, yes. After Global jumbo frame setting is done, it is applied to all ports. No additional configuration is needed.

Documentation errors suck...

So, just to verify - when you set Jumbo Frames on, on the SGE2000, it automatically sets the max MTU to 10K on all ports?

There's no additional configuration needed?

Thank you, Ivor.
