SGE2000P IPv6 Problem

I am unable to configure IPv6 on my SGE2000P. The switch has a link local address:

console# show ipv6 interface

However, pinging this IP fails:

# ping6 -I vlan10  fe80::c67d:4fff:feab:3370

it does respond to Neighbor Discovery requests:

Also, when I try to ping the link local address of my router from the switch, I see the ND packets on the vlan, I see my router respond, but nevertheless:

When I configure a public IP on the switch it also reponds to Neighbor Discovery. But the switch itself seems unable to perform ND's.

Prior to configuring VLANs the device did get a working IPv6 address. So it seems the switch is unable to cope with IPv6 on VLANs?

Whats going on here?

Hi Rudy,

I did the following;

step 1. the switch added a link local address after I clicked the bottom Add in the screen capture below. It attached a IPv6 interface to VLAN 1..I then clicked on Apply.

I then added my IPv6 global address to the vlan 1 interface by clicking the top Add button as seem from the screen capture below.

Step 2.  I then verified that the IPv6 address was active.

Step 3. Saved my configuration changes.

Step 4.  Ping from my Win7 PC to verify pinging works.

`Yes i did exactly the same, but that only seems to work on VLAN 1. I want to configure IPv6 on VLAN 10, which does not work. I can configure the addresses on the switch, but the device is not reachable.

This issue is now a confirmed bug by Cisco TAC. The switch does not receive ND packets and does not respond to NDP packets when using tagged VLANs. Ticket number SR 617103805
