Hello,

Is it possible to add secondary DNS server IP address in DHCP server network pool via web GUI?

It seems that the web GUI only allow one DNS server IP address. Is it a bug?

Please see the attached screenshot.

Thanks,

Dakudav

Hello,

The Web GUI will only allow 1 DNS server setting.  You can add up to 8 DNS servers via the CLI.

Log into CLI

Go to Config T

edit the DHCP Pool:  IP DHCP pool network "name of pool"

                                   DNS-server IPaddress1 IPaddress2 IPaddress3 ...

Best Regards,

Dakudav,

Unfortunately you can't add a secondary DNS server through the GUI.  If you have access to the CLI, you are able to add a secondary server.

switch#conf t
switch(config)#ip dhcp pool network <pool_name>
switch(config-dhcp)#dns-server 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 4.4.2.2

You can take the pool name from the GUI or check what it is in the CLI with
a show run.

After that check with show running-config to verify they are both still
present.

I hope this solves your problem!

If I add additional DNS servers through the CLI, will they all show up in the web GUI?

Also, being a small business series switch, this simple functionality should be present in the GUI itself. I hope Cisco include this functionality in the next firmware update.

The additional DNS addresses won't show up in the GUI but will still be functional and can be verified through the CLI.  The issue has been sent to the development teams for possible future integration but for now, the additional server information has to be changed manually.

Thanks Matt for reporting this issue to development team.

Is this feature now included in the recent firmware 1.4.1?

We also want this feature to be accessible via GUI. Will it be included in the next firmware update?
