Access Point with extended range

Dear community,

we operate (router1921) WAP121 Access points, which in the meantime have proven to have a too weak signal strength. So these access points should be replaced by new ones with significantly improved coverage range. What are the buying recommendations? WAP571?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi,

We recently launched the next-generation access points - Cisco Business Access Points (CBW140AC/CBW145AC/CBW240AC) which are 802.11ac Wave2 MU-MIMO models. Based on what you've been using we would recommend the CBW140AC. For higher client density you should consider CBW240AC. You can find all the product information and technical specifications at https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/business-100-series-access-points/smb-01-bus-145ac-ap-ds-cte-en.html

not sure is this for Home or Business?

if business suggests having a proper wireless survey before buying a product - that gives the ability to choose how many AP required in that area to cover with the good signal?

rather a trial and error.

Not sure what model you looking in - WAP571 ( seems to be end of Life) check before buying for support of the model.

Dear BB, the whole thing with the WAP121 access points was implemented back in the laptop days and signal strength was sufficient for that a

pplikation. For todays smartphones the signal intensity isn't sufficient any more so the access points should be replaced. I did not find a Cisco announcement that WAP571 is end of life?

Kind regards

I may be mistaken with another product model ( you are right 571 not yet announced EoL yet)

It supports new and all other IEEE standard, so we do not the information on how big are you looking to cover. - for small range it is good enough - this recommendation based your input and thinking for personal use ?
