Wireless users authentication through external server
I have Cisco 1602 AP. I am planning to have the wireless users connected to this AP so that when they access Internet, it should prompt them to enter the user name and password on their web browser. This is is similar to Captive Portal but i wanted to have the users authenticated to an external server so that the following achieved.
1) User connects to the Wireless AP
2) Wireless AP will permit the user to connect the network.
2) Username / Password is prompted while user trying to access Internet
3) External Server authenticates the username / password provided entered by the user.
