This was a question recently asked by a customer: what SNMP versions are supported by Smart Call Home? The answer is simple - any! That's because Smart Call Home is not an SNMP-based capability. It uses a combination of GOLD diagnostics, Cisco IOS Embedded Event Manager (EEM), and syslogs. SNMP is typically used by an external element management system (EMS) to obtain performance and fault data over a network. Call Home is embedded on the device and subscribes directly to the EEM events. Therefore, it does not require SNMP to gain access to this data.
