Hello Bryan, I wonder if the Smart Call Home supports a proxy server? Also, do I need a service contract to be able to configure Smart Call Home in my devices?
Cisco provides an optional Transport Gateway that acts as a proxy server specifically for Call Home messages. The Transport Gateway is an application that can be deployed on a Windows, Linux, or Solaris server.
The Transport Gateway is typically positioned in the network where it can receive HTTP or HTTPS messages from devices, can access a POP or IMAP server to obtain additional Call Home messages, and can communicate with Cisco Smart Call Home servers over the Internet using HTTPS.
If required, the Transport Gateway can be configured to use a traditional proxy server to establish the connection over the Internet to the Smart Call Home servers.

Devices under a SmartNet or Smart Net Total Care contract can be registered in Smart Call Home.
Hello Bryan, I just want to know how i can configure this two vlan with two pc's. I want that, Student Vlan cannot ping Faculty but Faculty can ping student Vlan. How can i configure that. Thank you..

Because it’s a newly added device, there isn’t enough data to spot any trends. In conjunction with TAC, we continually monitor for trending issues in order to enhance the intellectual capital used in the Smart Call Home diagnostic and parsing engine.

Yes. Regardless of the method used to send messages to the transport gateway, the transport gateway always uses HTTPS to securely deliver messages over the Internet to the Smart Call Home servers.
