On the ISR platforms, there is a source interface command. But on the ASR, there is not.
For email, you can go out the management interface on the ASR and just use the vrf command under call home to select the mgmt interface vrf. It will use the mgmt interface ip address as the source ip address. The coders assumed all important router generated communications would go out this interface in their design.
As far as going out a specific interface, call home should use the outgoing interface ip address as the source ip address in the email packet. The forwarding table will determine the interface. The issue is that the router creates these packets and, by default, uses the outbound interface as the source ip address.
I guess you want to use a loopback interface for the email and there is no known workaround at this time.
BTW, the difference between the 2 routers, ISR and ASR, is that the ISR does not have a management port. Hence, the source interface command is required to specify the interface.
