CSPC gui admin login not accepted

in one of the CSPC collectors installed the  Gui Admin user isn't able to login into the GUI anymore.

there is no other GUI user defined in this setup.

login using the collector login and root user are still possible.

any suggestions to fix this?

Hey michiel.van.t.erve,

Are they unable to login to the GUI due to lost a misplaced password?

Unfortunately, the only ways to recover a GUI password now are the security questions or the OTP TACACS setup.  Did they happen to set either of these two up correctly?  What is the version of the CSPC?

Thanks,
Justin

this was a 2.8.1.3 CSPC.

not sure why/how this made this way.

after a lot of tests the best way to solve this was to reinstall the server.

this was more efficient and quicker than i expected.

would love to know why these userids aren't managable from the CLI side too.

Because the 'admin' uses its own password file
So after some time you can login with the unix user
But you get a "must change psw" prompt in admin shell
And your old psw do not match unix password
So youre locked out:

Basically admin shell got its own psw store and if its not synced with the unix store its game over
would love to fix this but that's impossible with the current setup.
Can login with collectorlogin/root just fine but cannot access admin shell

No clue how to reset admin shell password-store from root.
